How to play
Klondike Solitaire starts with seven tableau columns. Only the top card of each column is face up. Build columns downward by rank while alternating red and black suits. Move Aces to the four foundations, then build each suit upward to King.
- Deal seven tableau columns with only the top card face up.
- Build tableau stacks downward by rank, alternating red and black suits.
- Move Aces to the foundations, then build each suit up to King.
- Use the stock and waste pile in Turn 1 or Turn 3 mode.
- Empty tableau spaces may only be filled with a King or a stack starting with a King.
- Win by moving all 52 cards to the four foundations.
Turn 1, Turn 3, undo, and hints
Use Turn 1 for a calmer game or Turn 3 for the classic harder draw style. Tap cards to select and move them, use Undo when a move was not what you wanted, and press Hint for the next simple legal move. When every tableau card is visible and the win is clear, the table can auto-complete the remaining foundations.
- Turn 1
- Draws one card from the stock at a time. It is more forgiving and better for learning the board.
- Turn 3
- Draws three cards at a time, with only the top waste card playable. It is the classic harder challenge because useful cards can stay buried.

Beginner Solitaire strategy
- Reveal hidden cards first. A move that flips a face-down card usually gives you more options than a move that only tidies the tableau.
- Move Aces and 2s to the foundations early. They rarely help build tableau stacks.
- Be careful with middle cards. A 5 or 6 may still be useful in the tableau, so do not rush every card to the foundation just because it can move.
- Choose Kings with a plan. Empty columns are powerful, but a King that does not help reveal cards can block the board.
- Use Undo to compare branches. If two moves look close, try one path, then undo and test the other.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Filling an empty column before a useful King is ready.
- Moving cards to foundations too quickly when they are still needed in the tableau.
- Drawing through the stock without checking for tableau moves first.
- Moving a stack sideways without revealing a hidden card or creating a useful empty column.
- Ignoring Turn 3 stock order, where buried cards may need another cycle to become playable.
